Data
This tier is rated for more than charge-only use.
The connector can move files and other data, not only power. The peak rate is the number on the speed meter. Real throughput still depends on the host, the cable, and the device on the other end.
On cards: Shown when the connector has a data speed above zero.
Power Delivery
Higher power is negotiated, not fixed at a few watts.
USB Power Delivery (PD) lets a host and device agree on voltage and current above the basic USB load. Higher watt figures on the power meter usually assume PD and a cable rated for that current. Without PD, many ports stay near phone-charger levels.
On cards: Shown when max power is 15 W or higher.
Video out
The port class can carry a display signal.
USB-C at SuperSpeed-class rates can carry video (for example DisplayPort Alt Mode or Thunderbolt video). The shell alone does not guarantee it: the host must support video, and the cable must pass the display path. Treat this as a capability of the tier, not a promise on every product.
On cards: Shown on USB-C rows at about 5 Gbps or faster.
Rated cable required
A random USB-C cable may not hit the rated speed.
Higher USB-C data rates need cables built for that generation. A charge-only or USB 2.0-wired cable can look identical but cap throughput far below the port rating. Packaging that matches the speed (or a known certified cable) matters more as the meter climbs past 10-20 Gbps.

Dock / multi-display class
Bandwidth class used for docks and multiple displays.
Around 40 Gbps (USB4 and similar), a single cable often feeds a dock that splits data, power, and one or more displays. Whether two external monitors work still depends on the host silicon and the dock - this flag marks the bandwidth class where that use is common, not a guarantee of any specific layout.
On cards: Shown on USB-C rows at about 40 Gbps or faster.
Next-gen bandwidth
Newest high-rate tier above the current 40 Gbps mainstream.
80 Gbps and similar rates sit above the widely shipped 40 Gbps USB4 class. Hosts, cables, and accessories that fully use this tier are still rolling out. Expect fewer retail SKUs and stricter cable requirements than for lower tiers.
